=== For V1 Sensor ===

Ubi is built to work with Kinect for Windows sensor. If you do not own a Kinect for Windows sensor you can purchase it from here .

If you own a Kinect for Windows sensor, please make sure that it is powered on, connected to a dedicated USB port on the PC and its green LED is on

If you are using a Kinect for Xbox, please make sure that the Kinect for Windows SDK 1.8 is installed.

If you still have the error, please check the device manager and make sure that the Kinect Sensor is detected by your PC.

If you are using a virtual machine, please note that Ubi does not support it.

You can start Kinect for Windows Developer Toolkit 1.8 and run Color Basics-D2D to see if your computer can access Kinect sensor.

=== For V2 Sensor ===

There is an known issue that sensor cannot be detected by the system. If this happens, please perform these checks:

power off the sensor by unplugging all power cables and connected them again.

1. Check that the Kinect V2 is connected to your computer via a USB 3.0 port.

2. Go to the control panel/programs and verify that the Kinect for Windows SDK V 2.0 is installed on your computer.

3. Run the Kinect Configuration Verifier application verify if your computer supports the Kinect V2 sensor.

4. Run the Kinect V2 SDK samples

There are three samples to check the following streams: depth, color and IR.

For the depth and IR streams, you should see gray and black images of whatever the Kinect is pointing to.
For the color, you should see a color image of whatever the Kinect is pointing to.
If you see white, it means the sensor itself is faulty.
